Set tags

First of all, thanks for the implementation. But somehow that is not super practicable. It takes forever to go through everything with the current implementation and to set multiple tags. Even if a share is in several portfolios, I have to select them all individually. I think “mark” and then “set tag” is much faster than clicking on everything individually. Björn Beier

Björn Beier Hi Bjorn. According to the principle The community determines what is important but that is not. because the backup and export/ import including notes/ comments have more votes. unfortunately this has been missing for years... please

Summitli: Feature voting is an indicator, but not our roadmap. The function to create backups will currently not be available for the foreseeable future.

Björn Beier I'm already looking forward to it. It would be important that totals are also calculated and displayed for the positions summarized over a day. In particular, the return on all positions for the selected period.

Björn Beier Tags only make sense if they are permanently available. I don't want to have to delete my tags to see something else. If you limit them to 5 for plus users, as with views, they are virtually useless. Rather, the range of AT LEAST 50 plus and 150 investors, preferably unlimited.
Björn Beier
Wurstsuppe Can you give us an example of 30 tags that you would set in your private portfolio so that we understand why you need so many at that point?
And also about that:
- What you want to achieve with the tags, i.e. what would you actually use them for
- How many tags you would place on which holdings

Bonds (all)
Bonds - Government

Bond-type credit derivatives (BDC, CEF, preferred stocks)
Covered calls (all)
Covered calls (ETF only)
ETF Worldbase
ETF Dividend Growth
ETF individual sectors (combined)
Maybe: ethical filters exist (ESG/SRI), are not always in the name because some are provider-specific

BDC (externally manged only)
CEF (all)
CEF (without leverage)
EM individual stocks
Individual shares - various country allocations or regional allocations 1
Individual shares - various country allocations or regional allocations 2
Individual shares - various country allocations or regional allocations 3
Individual shares - various country allocations or regional allocations 4

Real estate values (all)
Real estate values (only REITS without ETF)
I don't have a plot of land yet, but if so, here would be another option
Tax: Individual shares that are calculated in the fund pot (BDC, CEF, etc.)
monthly payout
High-yield values
Basic materials (block)
Basic materials - chemistry
Commodities - mining
Raw materials - other (agriculture and timber industries, etc.)
Network industries (block)
Network industries - infrastructure
Network industries - energy (all)
Network industries - energy (only 100% green/yieldCOS)
Network industries - suppliers
Network industries - communications
Space (actually an industry)
not for me, but may be important for others, such as other industries or sectors or very individual filters
I'm sure that users with high 2 or 3-digit individual stock portfolios would think of a few more things here

Addition to the list:
It should be possible to attach an unlimited number of tags to a holding company for the time being, provided that there are no technical limitations. (works at least with Finanz Zero and their limited number of tags)
What do I want to achieve with this: I want to be able to pack things together clearly for me, I want to be able to compare things with other groups of things, I want to have suitable sorting options for the questions I ask myself and then be able to see accordingly how things went or how current policies influence them. I want to be able to present and also evaluate my strategies. I want to be able to see whether cyclical stocks are currently declining and can then buy back in a targeted manner or revise my strategy.
In addition to the tags I have already mentioned, which I would use for myself, I have thought of another level that I had not thought of before. I also want to note that my portfolio does not have any crypto, precious metals or any kind of leverage.
But I had been thinking about collectibles earlier when I was on eBay: You offer the option to fit 140 characters for tangible assets. If I come up with the stupid idea of adding 100 graded trading cards or going shopping too deep and too expensive with my non-investment coins, then tens of more tags would be added from this area alone:
Trading cards:
TCG Pokémon
TCG Magic The Gathering
TCG black white
TCG Others
Where applicable, subdivides by grading company:
BGS
PSA
CGC
SDC
Tens of others
If necessary, further subdivided by grading
10
9.5
9
etc
You can play the same game with collectible coins:
Weimar Republic Notgelt
Weimar Republic Rentenmark
GDR Commemorative Coins
Commemorative coins from Germany
carthage
Roman Republic
Greece Kingdom A
Greece City-State B
And we haven't said a word about spirit collectors, car collectors, watch collectors, etc. Especially for tangible assets, the sorting function would be of considerable importance.
Björn Beier
Wurstsuppe: For example, sectors, industries, or country assignments. Wouldn't it be easier there if we simply activated sectors, industries and countries via views?
W
Wurstsuppe
Björn Beier You have currently limited views to 5 for plus users and 15 for investors (last statement from Sumit I know of). I'm not a beta tester, but it would annoy me if I had to reset my views to watch something else.
In addition, the sectors are not always what I am trying to depict. For example, I have a larger Bavarian position, which is fully integrated into my healthcare sector. I bought Bayer and replenished it because it became the world's largest seed company following the merger with Monsanto. (i.e. somewhere between chemistry, industry and raw materials). My area of network industries mentioned above probably also covers 2-3 sectors.
But as I said, I can't test and only know it from the FFS stream, maybe I have a different idea of what the views can do here.
But a tight limitation of sorting options, whether they are called day or view, would be MMn the opposite of what many users who have more than 10 individual positions expect with the feature. Especially when looking at the illustration of all asset groups.
Björn Beier
Wurstsuppe: Yo thanks for the feedback! In any case, we will take it with us - it is the first case in which the filtering in the mold is so extremely intensive. The limit of views is actually 0/5/15/50 and for tags we will probably start with the same limit - which doesn't mean that it has to stay that way forever.
We never even read the feedback that views were currently too limited in over 300 comments during the beta. However, we are following developments accordingly.

planned
Hey, we're setting this post to “planned” - we'll be launching “Views” for the beta as one of the next core features, which will allow many usage cases of “tags” to be implemented. We're not saying yet that we will “specifically” build tags, but part of views is filtering for individual holdings, which will allow a special look at separate holdings.
We will then keep you up to date on the development.

The solution of creating views in which you can select holdings has at least the same result as tags, albeit less practical.
A tag as an attribute should be part of the private master data of a security. However, the user has no rights to this entity. So it doesn't work.
Alternatively, in the transaction at Depot.Holding, where you can leave the note today. But it's not clean either, because 1:n.
So all that remains is viewname=tag entity. Cumbersome but dirty because it cannot be aggregated.
In the end, it will probably result in the user analyzing their data themselves somewhere. However, it is still unclear to me why you do not offer him any exports. If you were to generate a contribution margin from “Time on Page,” I could still understand it, but that way?

Björn Beier does the holding selection only load slowly for me forever or do I have “too many” holdings?

TAGS & SELECTION: Evaluation & analysis via tags and option to select titles
L
L V
Although you can add and remove predefined columns in the overviews, it remains very static.
Very often, it makes sense to analyze the existing key figures for self-selected clusters in order to make investment decisions.
So if you could freely select different titles or assign a day so that the available evaluations could be applied to this new title basket temporarily or permanently, this would be super beneficial.
For example, you could evaluate all of your near-gold stocks (ETC, ETF, Miner, Loyalties) in comparison to yourself and in comparison to the overall portfolio.

Active vs passive
An option in the app that allows you to measure the performance of stock picking — i.e. only the active part — would be interesting. Although the program currently includes asset classes such as stocks, cash, etc., both ETFs and stocks are combined. With this option, investors could compare their performance with a passive strategy. Does something like this already exist?

Own grouping of holding companies
C
Christoph R.
Since I have my holdings in 3 different “physical” custody accounts, I would also like to be able to group them into my own “virtual” accounts via the “real” deposits. Technically, it is therefore an additive classification of a holding company, although the analyses can also be carried out using the various classifications! D.h.auch The “real” depots are retained as they are now and the import takes place via these “real” depots. Or the “virtual” depots would just be another view (including filters) than the overall view.

Group individual stocks or ETFs to see the development of this group at a glance
O
OLIH
I have several strategic components in my portfolio. The dashboard shows me the development of the entire portfolio - but not the performance of the strategic components, which consist of stocks/ETFs. It would be great if you could not only see the performance of the entire portfolio in the dashboard, but that you could group individual stocks or ETFs from the portfolio and then display this group with the performance figures in the dashboard. So: if I selected 4 titles in the health area, for example, then it would be brilliant if I could define these 4 titles thematically as a group and the performance figures could be displayed on the group.

Custom tags/ categories for portfolio positions
P
Parqet Nutzer
In order to structure various securities in a portfolio even better, the user should be able to assign their own categories or tags, which can also be filtered. For example: if one of my investment cases is “copper,” then I can identify the positions I have invested in it. The same applies if another case is “gold.” Ideally, you can award several tags (as “copper and “gold” can also be awarded for a corresponding mining share, for example). The feature shouldn't be that difficult to implement either, because all it needs is another database table and Parqet already has rudimentary filter logics that just need to be extended.
